Roxanne Jitomir

Roxanne Jitomir is a self-taught artist working across ceramics, sculpture, drawing, and found-object assemblage. Influenced by punk culture, fashion, emotional vulnerability, and organic imperfection, her work explores identity, nostalgia, rebellion, beauty, and psychological texture. After studying at FIT and building an internationally distributed fashion line following her work with Betsey Johnson, Jitomir shifted toward a more instinctive art practice where process and emotional honesty became central. Her sculptural ceramics appear simultaneously ancient and futuristic, while her rock-based figures and graphic florals embrace humor, tension, tenderness, and distortion. Her work resists strict categorization, existing somewhere between fine art, outsider art, fashion artifact, and emotional documentation.
